About Global Sindhu

Global Sindhu is a cultural organisation dedicated to the preservation and celebration of the rich heritage of the Sindhi people ? one of the world's most ancient and resilient communities.

The Sindhi civilisation, rooted in the banks of the Sindhu River, is part of the great Indus Valley Civilisation ? among the earliest urban societies in human history, dating back more than 5,000 years. The archaeological wonders of Mohenjo-daro and Harappa stand as lasting testament to the sophistication of the Sindhi ancestors.

The watershed moment of 1947 brought profound change. At Partition, the historic land of Sindh was divided. The majority of Hindu Sindhis migrated to India, leaving behind their homes and ancestral lands. Yet in the face of this upheaval, the Sindhi community demonstrated extraordinary resilience ? rebuilding their lives across India and establishing communities across the globe, from Hong Kong and Britain to the Americas and Africa.

Today, Global Sindhu carries forward this legacy in Jodhpur and beyond. Our work spans cultural programmes, heritage documentation, community gatherings, and the support of Sindhi arts, music, and language. We are committed to ensuring that future generations remain connected to the traditions, values, and stories that define what it means to be Sindhi.

The Sindhi community is known not only for its cultural richness but for its spirit of solidarity ? establishing schools, hospitals, and institutions that serve all communities equally. We honour that tradition by remaining a resource and a home for all who share an interest in Sindhi culture and heritage.
